To help provide a catalyst for open dialogue with stakeholders and a basis for professional conduct, the Council for Continuing Education (CCPE) is developing a Code of Conduct for CCPE Accredited Representatives.

A draft of the Code has been welcomed by a number of physicians to provoke discussion and behavioural change on both sides of the equation.

CCPE is looking to finalize a Code of Conduct using broader input.

EVERYTHING WE DO IS FOCUSED ON HELPING HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS (HCPs) PRODUCE BETTER PATIENT OUTCOMES. FOR THIS TO OCCUR WE MUST:

  • BE AUTHENTICALLY FOCUSED ON THE PATIENT
  • BE A TRUSTED RESOURCE FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS

ADHERENCE TO THE ABOVE PRINCIPALS WITH HCP’s ARE GUIDED BY:

RESPECT – Be mindful of individual office environments and adhere to their policies.
PRIVACY – Be cognizant of patient privacy and take every effort to avoid overhearing patient information and confidential discussions.
INTEGRITY – Integrity will drive all interactions with stakeholders. We will adhere to governing principles of Rx&D, PAAB and CMA industry policies in our interactions.
FAIR BALANCE – Information shared with stakeholders will be fair and balanced and include approved indications and identified side effects.
COMMUNICATION – Work collaboratively with industry partners and Stakeholders to facilitate patient care.
EDUCATION – Constantly learn and share knowledge.
DOING NO HARM – Always act with the welfare of the patient in mind.
