Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network 2019-2020 Rolling Application

Question Title

* 1. The Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network (OYLPN) is accepting applicants to join the Youth Council for 2019-2020 school year. New members will have the opportunity to participate in and/or help plan the following events:

- the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America Capitol Hill Day in February of 2020 to advocate for substance misuse prevention and mental health by talking to your US legislator in Washington DC,
- the Statewide Prevention Coalition Association's Legislative Day in spring of 2020 to advocate for substance misuse prevention and mental health by talking to your state legislator at the Ohio Statehouse,
- the OYLPN Youth-Led Summit in spring of 2020 where youth learn what it takes for youth-led prevention programs to transform their communities,
- the We Are the Majority Rally in April of 2020 where young people confront negative stereotypes and show the world that the majority of youth are making positive decisions in their lives. 

(YC members will be reimbursed for mileage associated with travel to and from monthly meetings and other YC activities.)

YC members represent communities throughout Ohio and are chosen based on their passion for youth-led work, outstanding leadership qualities, and dedication to creating safe, healthy environments for all youth. 

Youth between the ages of 14-18 who are active in youth-led prevention and willing to make a commitment to Youth Council (YC) for the 2019-2020 school year are encouraged to apply. YC members in good standing with OYLPN who will still be in high school during the 2020-2021 school year will be invited to return to YC the following year.

If your application is accepted, the Youth Development Coordinator will email you a parent/guardian permission slip and request that you either schedule a phone interview with us or submit a letter of recommendation from a current or former member of YC. 

Acceptance to YC will be determined by Prevention Action Alliance based on membership positions available as well as the qualifications of the applicant.
