XYZ Prize for Spoken Word

The Arts Queensland XYZ Prize recognises and celebrates excellence and innovation in Australian performance poetry and spoken word.

The Prize, as part of the Arts Queensland Poetry Awards, is administered by Queensland Writers Centre and supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

Submit a recording of spoken word or performance poetry up to 3 minutes in length, in video format – plus transcript.

Entries open: Monday 3 August – Tuesday 8 September 2026
Entry fees:
  • $25 standard entry fee
  • $20 member/concession entry fee
