AASCU Academic Affairs Summer Meeting 2017
July 20-22, 2017
Baltimore, Maryland

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The theme for AASCU's 2017 Academic Affairs Summer Meeting is “Curricular Coherence: Finding Meaning and Purpose.” For us, curricular coherence means working to ensure that the courses and other academic experiences we require of our students build on one another to add up to something meaningful and valuable.

In accordance with the meeting's theme, we are seeking proposals for presentations that fall under the broad umbrella of "Curricular Coherence." Possible topics include the following:
  • Curriculum design projects
  • Degree maps
  • Redesigned pathways
  • Strategies for transfer student success
  • New approaches to career readiness
  • New models of teaching, learning and assesment
We also solicit proposals for presentations and discussions on a number of other issues that are of concern to the academic community, including:
  • Teacher education
  • International education
  • Civic engagement (e.g., fostering dialogues across political divides, institutional approaches to controversial speakers)
  • Strategies for student success
  • Faculty roles and responsibilities (e.g., changing faculty roles, mentoring models for new faculty)
  • Administrative matters (e.g., budgeting, staffing, change management)
  • Other issues that are of shared interest or concern
