The 2024 CIO of the Year Awards recognize Canadian technology leaders who have demonstrated business and technological vision, entrepreneurship, a capacity to drive enterprise transformation and a demonstrated ability to drive value in the marketplace. 

One of the awards we offer is called the Next Generation Leader Award. It is presented to an up-and-coming technology leader who continuously strives for excellence, best management practices, and innovation.

They will be recognized as demonstrating remarkable promise and outstanding talent as a future leader in the technology sector.

We’ve made this an easy two-step process. The first step is a letter from an executive - the CIO, a senior Director, or a similar role. That letter should indicate why the person should be considered for the role. The ideal letter would quickly summarize:

- Leadership ability 
- Strategic thinking
- Challenges that person has taken on
- Results achieved

The committee will shortlist and interview candidates and select one of them for the Next Generation Leader Award. Other finalists will be sent letters of congratulations.
