The Grand Bay West Trail in the Town of Channel – Port aux Basques was a well-loved destination and community trail, prior to its destruction by Hurricane Fiona in September 2022. The Town understands the importance of the trail to the community, and has partnered with Mills & Wright Landscape Architecture to determine the best route and means for reconstructing the trail.

The rebuilding effort will be viewed through the lens of long-term sustainability and climate change resiliency, to ensure that the trail is not simply reconstructed, but done so in a way that protects the Town’s investment and ensures the new trail once again becomes a cherished community amenity for generations to come.

We are requesting feedback from the public about the vision for the new trail. Please use this survey to help communicate your vision and ideas for the new trail.
