Participation is completely voluntary. There are no known risks to your participation in this research. Benefits include helping us better understand the usefulness of our parent resources, and allowing us to make improvements to better serve parents and youth. You may refuse to participate altogether, may choose to not answer some or all questions and may withdraw from the study at any time. If you do choose to withdraw from the study, the data collected until the point of your withdrawal will be retained/used in order to support project goals. Withdrawal or refusal to participate will have no consequences for your current or future relationship with Shift, your child’s participation in Fourth R programming, your or your child’s relationship with their teacher and school, or your child’s marks or involvement with any other program at school or in the community. No one from your child’s school will know whether or not you choose to participate. The University of Calgary Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board has approved this research study.
The information you provide is anonymous. Only the researchers and research staff of this research will have access to these data. The survey results will continue to be kept by the researchers for academic research and publication purposes. The information and data you provide us in this research study may also be used in future by the researchers’ for academic research purposes. The research information from this study may be used by graduate students in future projects. The data will be analyzed and the findings will be used and reported in reports, publications, presentations, and community workshops.
