NORTHEASTERN ONTARIO – 2025 EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT, TRAINING AND RETENTION SURVEY

Survey Objective:
The Northeastern Ontario 2025 Employee Recruitment, Training and Retention survey is being conducted with businesses and organizations across Northeastern Ontario to collect information opportunities and challenges with employee recruitment, training and retention. The survey begins with some basic questions about the general profile of your business/organization and workforce, followed by 28 questions, most of which offer multiple choice options. The survey questions are presented under the following headings:
  • Workforce changes in 2024 (5 questions)
  • Anticipated workforce changes in 2025 (4 questions)
  • Hard to fill positions (4 questions)
  • Recruitment practices (4 questions)
  • Skills development and training (5 questions)
  • Technological and environmental changes (3 questions)
  • Challenges and opportunities moving forward (3 questions)

As a Northeastern Ontario employer, your input is essential to help:
  • Inform employment and training programs and services.
  • Ensure that local employment and training programs and services better align with the needs of employers.
  • Contribute to efforts that ensure the availability of a skilled and trained workforce throughout Northeastern Ontario communities.
The end result will be a labour market snapshot of local and regional recruitment, training and retention issues.

Completing the survey:
  • The survey should take approximately 10 – 15 minutes to complete.
  • Please answer all the questions as accurately and completely as possible.
  • Although you might receive a request to complete the survey from multiple sources, we ask that your business/organization complete the survey only once.
  • Please have the survey completed by a person who is familiar with issues associated with employee recruitment, training and retention.
  • Be sure to click ‘DONE’ at the very end of the survey.
Confidentiality:
The survey has been designed to protect your identity. All answers will be treated in strict confidence and they will be compiled and published in aggregate form only.
