Bernard Street

The Town has received a number of complaints regarding the current on street parking arrangements. Currently there are no parking restrictions on Barnard Street.

The complaints relate to vehicles parking either side of the street, making it difficult for people attending to residential properties, Bright Beginnings, Meals on Wheels and the Town of Claremont Operations Centre.

Community Officers have monitored the area and confirm that parking on both sides of the street impacts the traffic flow.

If a no stopping line was placed on one side of the street, this would allow vehicles to travel freely on Bernard Street (between John Street, and the Bright Beginnings end of Bernard Street) and still allow residents to park on the street.

Town of Claremont would like to consult with the residents on Bernard Street to see if there is support of a no stopping line on one side to allow safe passage of other road users.
