Nomination for IWAA Branch Committee

In accordance with the procedures set forth by the constitution set by the Australian Water Association, nominees who are members of both the IWA and AWA are invited to nominate for a position on the IWAA Branch Committee.

To be eligible to vote in the election, voters need to be financial IWA and AWA members until the close of elections.

About the IWAA Branch Committee:
The purpose of the IWA Australia committee is to enhance the experience of IWA members in Australia by being the Australian voice internationally and the international voice in Australia. We are supported by the Australian Water Association and are a link between the two partnering Associations.

We often achieve our purpose by securing and shaping high quality IWA conferences to be held around the country. These events not only attract international experts to Australia but exposes the world to the talent of the Australian water sector.

IWAA also look out for opportunities for Australian members to participate in IWA activities/groups and are proud to continue supporting the Young Water Professional biennial IWA/AWA national conference.

Our committee is made up of diverse people from around the country, including several YWPs. Our committee members are empowered to shape and take ownership of initiatives that they believe will achieve IWAA’s purpose of enhancing the experience of IWA members in Australia. We have monthly committee calls with subgroups working on committee initiatives between these sessions.

To provide further value for our members we want an enthusiastic committee for the 2019/21 term. To kick things off we will have a face to face planning session (date TBC once elected) which committee members will need to arrange their own funding to attend. It can be challenging to work remotely with each other, so we are looking at using different technology platforms to improve the way we collaborate with one another.

Joining the committee is an incredible opportunity to build relationship with water professionals in Australia and across the globe while contributing to the aspirations held by IWA and AWA.

- The Branch Committee will consist of up to fifteen (15) financial members, including the IWAA Branch Chair

- Should more than fifteen (15) nominations be received for the IWAA Branch Committee, an election will be called by the general members late June. It is important to note that for your nomination to be valid you must include a brief (no more than 150 words) statement that will be included in election information.
