The Teen Leadership Council is a school-year youth employment program that will hire up to 18 Teen Leaders, ages 15-18, specializing in an area of the performing arts (dance, music, or acting) to use the arts for social change in their communities. Teen Leaders will work collaboratively to create an original performance and arts-based workshop on a social justice topic. The Teen Leadership Council will tour their performance in various Boston communities for 2-3 visit per week in March and April. Teen Leaders will deepen their facilitation and job readiness skills; engage Boston residents in meaningful dialogue about a social justice topic; and operate as change agents in their communities.

Teen Leaders will be paid minimum wage for up to 10 hours per week. Teen Leaders will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4-6:30pm at the Boch Center, located in Downtown Boston, to receive arts and leadership training in preparation for a Final Showcase performance and workshop tour. We anticipate rehearsals will start on November 26, 2018 through April 26, 2019. More information can be found at bochcenter.org/teencouncil. Please fill out the following application to complete your interview sign-up. We will then send you an email confirming your interview time slot.

Previous performing arts experience is NOT necessary! Prior preparation is NOT required for interviews.
