Ken Fleet Choral Conducting Scholarship

Attention music students majoring in Choral Conducting, or choir conductors looking for professional development, London Community Foundation will accept applications for the Ken Fleet Choral Conducting Scholarship starting December 1, 2018 until March 1, 2019.

In honour of Ken Fleet, who was London Pro Musica Choir’s well-respected conductor for 23 years, London Pro Musica Choir established the Ken Fleet Choral Conducting Scholarship Fund. The fund is intended to reflect Ken Fleet’s passion for the education and development of young Canadian choral conductors, and also to represent Ken’s steadfast dedication to the London Choral Community.

The scholarship will award $1,000 to an individual currently studying choral conducting or planning to continue their studies in this field.

Online applications must be submitted by March 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must: 
o be an Ontario resident,
o have formal music education,
o use the scholarship for professional development workshops or courses in choral conducting.

Selection Process

An Awards Committee of five to seven members from London Pro Musica Choir, Amabile Choirs of London, Medway High School and London Community Foundation will review all applications. All applicants, including the recipient, will be notified of the result by March 31.
