The Community Oncology Program is pleased to offer the 2019-20 Professional Development Opportunity Awards. These awards are designed for health professionals affiliated with Community Oncology Programs, WRHA Community Oncology Hospital Programs and for family physicians and nurse practitioners in primary care practice within Manitoba who would like to enhance their knowledge and skills in cancer care and blood disorders in order to better serve the needs of their community.

We encourage you to be specific when developing your learning objectives as well as when describing how your patients and community will benefit from your attendance to a professional development program. Specific learning objectives and descriptions translate into better scores and therefore make applications stronger.

Applications are scored using a 1-5 scale. One bonus point is added to applications that include a comprehensive description of the applicant's role as it related to oncology.

Applicants with an overall score of 3.5 or higher will be considered for a full award. Applicants with an overall score between 3.4 and 3.0 may be considered for a partial award (50% of the request). Applicants with an overall score of 2.9 or less will not be considered eligible for an award.

Please complete all applicable questions. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The deadline to apply is November 8, 2019.

Please note: Exam certification fees are no longer eligible for funding.
