Official Community Plan Review

The main objective of the Housing Action Program is to explore options that support the creation of diverse housing options without causing harm to the ecosystem or depleting the finite natural resources on Salt Spring Island. To implement such objective, an amendment to parts of the Salt Spring Island Official Community Plan (OCP) will likely be required. The OCP guides future development on the island. Broadly, the OCP provides a community vision for Salt Spring Island and defines the land use objectives, policies and actions are required to achieve the vision as envisioned by the island community.
