INTRODUCTION

Open Streets Windsor returns this September to connect our diverse neighbourhoods and people across our community on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m.  As thousands have witnessed over the past two years, this free community event will see an eight kilometre route along Sandwich Street, University Avenue West, Wyandotte Street East and Drouillard Road temporarily opened to people but closed to cars.

In addition to providing a space for people to walk, cycle, roller blade, etc. along the route, hubs are designated for individuals, businesses and organizations to animate the spaces with community-led, interactive activities - things like exercise, street games, obstacle courses, neighbourhood tours, dance classes, samples, musical performances, art installations and more. The possibilities are endless!

For an event such as Open Streets to be successful dedicated and energetic volunteers are needed.  That is where you come in!!!

We need volunteers to assist with positions ranging from setting-up and tear down, making sure our road closure barricades are safe and secure, volunteers who can ride their own bikes and assist where needed along the route and new this year a sprinkling of “Happiness Ambassadors”.

To take advantage of this opportunity, please complete and submit this VOLUNTEER registration form.
