OYLPN Youth Council Application

The Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network (OYLPN) is accepting applicants to join the Youth Council
(YC) for the 2020-2021 school year. YC members represent communities throughout Ohio and are
chosen based on their passion for youth-led work, outstanding leadership qualities, and dedication
to creating safe, healthy environments for all youth.

Barring interruptions due to COVID-19, new members will have the opportunity to participate in
and/or help plan the following events:

- the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America Capitol Hill Day in February of 2021 to advocate
for substance misuse prevention and mental health by talking to your US legislator in Washington
DC,

- the Prevention Action Alliance Advocacy Day in spring of 2021 to advocate for substance misuse
prevention and mental health by talking to your state legislator at the Ohio Statehouse,

- the We Are the Majority Rally in spring of 2021 where young people confront negative stereotypes
and show the world that the majority of youth are making positive decisions in their lives.

YC members will also plan activities that support teen vaping prevention and promote youth
mental health.

YC members will be reimbursed for mileage associated with travel to & from monthly meetings as
well as other YC activities.
