You have been asked to be a part of the research described here. Participation is voluntary. The purpose of this study is to examine the services provided to adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by occupational therapy practitioners in the United States. What to expect: This study involves completing an online survey containing questions about your background as an occupational therapy practitioner, your work setting, practices with adults with ASD, and your preparedness for working with this population. The survey is estimated to take approximately 20 minutes of your time.         

Risks and discomforts to you if you take part in this study: There are no anticipated risks or discomforts associated with this study. You may choose not to participate, or stop participating at any time. 
The benefits to you if you take part in this study: There are no anticipated direct benefits associated with participation this research. By establishing a profile of current practices, this study will allow for international comparisons; enable monitoring practice trends; and inform occupational therapy educators.

What will you receive for taking part in this study: After completion of the survey, you will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for one of three $50.00 Amazon gift cards. This requires providing contact information, for reporting purposes, through an online raffle site, which will not be connected to your responses to the survey. 
What will happen to the information collected in this study: The information collected will be kept confidential as much as is permitted by law. The findings from this study will be submitted for publication in an occupational therapy journal.

What rights do you have when you take part in this study: Participation in this research is voluntary. Deciding not to take part, or to stop being a part of this research will result in no penalty, fine or loss of benefits that you otherwise have a right to.
