You are being invited to join a research study. The purpose is to gather input on the development of a One Health Workforce Academy that is envisioned to coordinate the credentialing of pre-service and in-service trainees through offering a competency-based “Certificate in One Health” and opportunities for Continuing Professional Development credits for recertification. Through a questionnaire-facilitated survey, we are gathering input from a broad array of experts, employers, trainees, and alumni of One Health education, training and career development regarding the desirability and priorities for the Academy and the credential process.
If you agree to participate in this research, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire. We expect that responding to the questions will take about 20 minutes.
There is no direct benefit to you from taking part in this study. We hope that the research will contribute to the quality assurance process to support the workforce personnel at the forefront of current and emerging global health challenges rooted in the One Health framework. We envision the development of a web-based One Health Workforce Academy that serves as a one-stop-shop for certification credentialing, faculty development, and continuing professional development for One Health professionals and trainees. Certified One Health professionals are expected to be prepared to work collaboratively to prevent pathogen spillover events, disease outbreaks and to respond effectively to pandemics when they inevitably occur.
The risks of this research are minimal. Some of the questions might make you feel uncomfortable or upset. You do not have to answer any of the questions you do not want to answer.
