Hello Residents of the Nicollet Island East Bank Neighborhood,
The Nicollet Island East Bank Neighborhood Association (NIEBNA) has created this poll to determine what matters most to you in our neighborhood. Our goal is to use this survey to help guide allocation of funds NIEBNA receives from the City of Minneapolis for projects to improve our neighborhood.
We’re asking all residents to return or respond to this survey by Friday, September 2, 2016.
Since 1991, the Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) has engaged neighborhood groups in improving their communities. Our neighborhood received $240,780 in NRP Phase I funds, resulting in business revitalization along East Hennepin and park improvements on Nicollet Island. We thank the many residents who have helped revitalize our neighborhood with NRP funds.
Nicollet Island East Bank is now eligible to receive $113,768.92 in NRP Phase II funds
• 70% to enhance housing
• 30% to enhance other areas of community life
Due to the limited need for housing improvements in our neighborhood, NIEBNA is considering following the lead of neighborhood associations that have placed their housing funds into a city-wide loan program. We will use survey results to guide spending of the remaining 30% of NRP funds.
