The Comprehensive Plan is a guide to community physical, social, and economic development.  The Comprehensive Plan covers many topics, such as land use, housing, transportation, parks and recreation, community facilities and services, economic development, and more.  The Comprehensive Plan is not meant to serve as land use regulations and does not mandate how the community should grow.  Instead, it provides a 25-year vision for future growth and development and a rational basis for land use decisions.

Public participation creates better decisions and ensures that citizens have input in deciding a vision for the community’s future.   The Planning Commission asks for your input through this visioning survey.  Your survey responses will be used to identify the future land use planning objectives and strategies for the Cities of Bardstown, Bloomfield, Fairfield, and New Haven and unincorporated areas of Nelson County!
