In 2013 prior to the issuance of PDA’s Technical Report 67: Exclusion of Objectionable Microorganisms from Nonsterile Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, and Cosmetics, the PDA conducted a survey of industry’s non-sterile pharmaceutical, consumer health, medical devices, dietary supplements and cosmetic products practices in the assessment of objectionable microorganisms.

The purpose of this survey is to:
1) evaluate how different companies and industries are handling the issue of objectionable microorganisms in non-sterile finished product formulations
2) assess industry’s current practices in the assessment and management of objectionable microorganisms
3) evaluate how these have changed since the publication of TR67 and to assist in the revision of TR67.
Please note, this survey has about 50 questions.

The output from the survey will be made available at a high-level in the revised TR67 (anticipated publication late 2025/early 2026), as a separate published report and shared at appropriate PDA conferences.

Participation in the survey has many advantages notably that you can help shape the content of the revised TR67.

Additionally, 3 respondents will receive a $75 Amazon gift card! Interested respondents can also participate in the peer review of TR 67! See last survey question for details.
