* 1. Living in the Sunshine state doesn't mean the weather is always warm. For those rare days when the mercury dips below our comfort zone and we just can't stop ourselves from hopping in the saddle, it's important to be prepared for cold weather riding. Here are some helpful winter riding tips:
  • Wear layers. A comfortable, wicking base layer works well for all weather conditions.
  • Increase visibility and following distance.¬†
  • Winter/heated gloves and/or heated grips. Cold hands can cause difficulties when accessing cold levers.
  • Tire quality. Tires should have at least 50% tread life.
  • Tire Pressure. Cold temps cause air pressure to drop approximately 1-2 pounds every 10 degrees.
