Application for Act Now! bullying prevention classroom campaign

Thank you for doing all you can to prevent bullying in your classroom. Children’s Wisconsin is here to support those efforts by offering classroom bullying prevention campaign kits, free of charge, to the first forty educators who complete this year’s application. This offering is designed to provide a school educator with the resources needed to plan and deliver a classroom or school-wide bullying prevention campaign with a starter kit and e-learning course access.  Educators successfully completing the Classroom Campaign requirements will receive a second kit designed to help them continue this important work. These resources are being offered by Children’s Wisconsin in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
 
Please review the requirements outlined below. Once you understand the Classroom Campaign expectations complete and submit the application.
 
Important details:
  • Only one application per educator for the 2022-2023 school year is permitted.
  • Educators submitting an application must work in Wisconsin schools and serve students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
  • The Bullying Prevention Classroom Campaign must be completed between November 8, 2022 and April 1, 2023.
  • The e-Learning courses and classroom campaign implementation will be facilitated by the school educator completing this application.
  • Children's Wisconsin e-learning staff will provide instruction and support. You will receive access to the online courses and campaign materials at no cost if selected as a campaign recipient. The courses vary in time but we estimate the courses and campaign may require a minimum of 4-6 hours of time to complete.
Campaign Goal
  • Increase awareness of the effects of bullying and strategies for addressing it
  • Empower students and staff to plan and deliver an effective bullying prevention campaign at their school
  • Share resources available from Children’s Wisconsin to support bullying prevention efforts in Wisconsin schools
Children’s Responsibilities
  • Provide no-cost access to the online educator Act Now! Bullying Basics course
  • Provide no-cost access to the online student Act Now! grade level course for grades kindergarten through 8th grade
  • Provide a campaign “kit” with items to support the campaign, including campaign posters
  • Provide shareable social media components to increase awareness
  • Provide support on how to use the Act Now! resources
  • Send a Campaign Continuation Kit once all requirements are met
School Responsibilities
  • The educator will serve as the main point of contact.
  • The educator must complete the Act Now! Bullying Basics course, including the end of course survey.
  • The educator must enroll their students in the appropriate grade level Act Now! Bullying Prevention course.
  • The educator and their classroom of students will facilitate a bullying prevention campaign.
  • The educator must complete an end-of-campaign survey.

A requirement of the Act Now! bullying prevention classroom campaign is that your students complete the appropriate grade level Act Now! student e-learning course while you complete the educator Bullying Basics course. A Children’s Wisconsin e-Learning Representative will contact you about implementing these Act Now! bullying prevention courses. * 4. Share your proposed timeline to implement the Act Now! bullying prevention classroom campaign and e-learning courses if your application is accepted.  The Act Now! courses and campaign should be completed by April 1st, 2023. Once all components of the agreement are completed, an additional continuation kit of bullying prevention supplies for your classroom will be be shipped by May, 2023.  Proposed timeline to implement:

Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis from November 8, 2022 through March 1, 2023 until the 40 spots have been filled. All applications will receive a response from the Children's team.  All Wisconsin schools are eligible to register for the e-learning courses for no cost but only those selected through this application will receive the additional campaign materials.
