NEF Grant Application Process

Purpose and Funding Scope:

The Natick Education Foundation's purpose is to support our teachers, staff, and students with resources that are not funded through ordinary budgetary channels as well as to encourage programs that enhance and enrich the curriculum. Grant recipients may be asked to share the results of their project with NEF through occasional surveys, demonstrations and/or presentations.

The 2018-2019 NEF Grant Program will have one cycle with applications due by November 1, 2018. No applications submitted after this date will be considered. NEF will fund up to $10,000 in grants through this program.

Applicants will be notified of the status of their project prior to the holiday break. Funds will be available at the start of the new year.

About the selection process for NEF Grants:
  • Total grant monies awarded will not exceed $10,000.
  • Teachers and staff at all the Natick Public Schools are encouraged to apply.
  • Project proposals will be reviewed and scored in November of 2018.
  • NEF Grant-funded projects must be academic in nature or otherwise in support of student growth and learning.
  • Applications should have a clear focus and goal and show effort on the part of the writers.
In general, NEF does not fund consultants or visiting artists/performers unless the direct and on-going benefit to Natick students is great in relation to his or her compensation. However, NEF does support teachers receiving professional development that will be spread to other teachers at their grade level or subject area. Our goal is to have successful projects disseminated widely across the districts, touching as many schools, teachers, and students as possible.

For health-related projects, please visit the MetroWest Community Healthcare Foundation first.

Funding is generated through individual and corporate donations to Natick Education Foundation, Teacher Tributes, and other NEF fund-raising events.

Please email NEFgrants@gmail.com with any questions regarding your proposal.
