Fellowship Details

In 2024-2025, a select number of ensembles will be chosen to participate in the Community Performances and Partnerships (CPP) Holiday Ensemble Fellowship Program. Through this fellowship, ensembles will work with CPP staff members to design a 45-minute interactive program of holiday music that will be performed between December 1st and 17th. The focus of this program is flexible and can be tailored to the interest of the ensemble, and may include performances in senior centers, hospitals, nursing homes, homeless shelters, among others. Each group may contain 3-4 people in any combination. All program logistics and any travel needed are coordinated through the CPP Program. Programming for the 2024-2025 will likely be all in-person work, but procedures will be determined based on health regulations and policies.

Responsibilities of CPP Holiday Ensemble Fellows:The primary responsibility of CPP holidayEnsemble Fellows is to perform 1-4 programs (number of programs determined on a case by case basis according to availability, community need, etc.) in community settings during the month of December. Programs should be approximately 45 minutes in length and include a variety of holiday music, along with audience interaction. Ensembles will be required to meet at least twice with a CPP staff member to plan and discuss their program, and MUST run through their program with a staff member prior to Thanksgiving. The scheduling of performances is somewhat flexible, based upon the group’s availability, but all performances must be completed by December 17th. Fellows are also asked to fill out an evaluation when their fellowship is complete.

Compensation: For participation in this program, each CPP Fellow will be paid an honorarium prorated per number of performances at a rate of $75 per performance. This will be paid in one installment at the end of the fall 2024 semester.

Eligibility: Ensembles that contain up to 4 people; Undergraduate and Graduate students in all disciplines may apply. All members must be full-time NEC students during the fall semester of 2024. All members of the ensemble must have availability to perform from December 1st through December 17th. Please note that 3 hour blocks of time between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, are preferred. Evening and weekend performances are very limited. Please fill out the attached schedule and submit with your application. Preference will be given to groups who can fit in a minivan with all of their gear and/or have a vehicle to assist with transportation if 2 vehicles are needed. Preference also given to groups with more availability.

Application Requirements: Each ensemble is required to fill out the attached application, attend an informal interview with CPP staff, and sign a contract upon acceptance into the program. The application deadline is Sunday, October 6th. Applications may be submitted after this deadline, but will only be considered as space allows. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis with all completed by late October.
