2026 Open Abstracts for HEI Annual Conference

This form is for all Open abstract submissions for the 2026 HEI Annual Conference and applications for the Jane Warren Award. The work presented must not be related to an ongoing study funded by HEI. A PI on an ongoing study funded by HEI cannot be the poster presenter though they may be a co-author.

Please make sure that you have a copy of your abstract ready to upload to this form before you begin. You will not be able to make changes once it is submitted.

Your abstract should be single spaced and no more than 300 words excluding the title, authors, affiliations, and references (if any). All abstracts should include the following sections:
  • Background and objectives
  • Methods and approach
  • Results and findings
  • Conclusions and interpretation.
Please:
  • Limit the use of acronyms and abbreviations. The first time an abbreviation is used, it should be spelled out in full, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
  • Limit the use of special characters and ensure that all formatting and special characters are clear in the submitted abstract (e.g., R^2 for R2, PM_ (2.5) for PM2.5, beta for β). Avoid the use of special formulas as these may get lost during submission of the form.
  • Do not include figures or tables.
  • Write in language accessible to a broad audience who might not be familiar with your scientific discipline. The HEI Annual Conference attendees include policymakers and scientists from a variety of disciplines.
