The European Commission has commissioned research on benefit sharing from tourism in protected areas in sub-Saharan Africa.
The research considers benefits provided by protected area authorities and from tourism operators.
The results will be used to form policy recommendations for protected areas and EU projects that make benefit sharing mechanisms more effective.
To contribute to this process, we would be grateful if you could respond to a series of questions about:
  • benefit sharing mechanisms that protected areas and tourism operators use;
  • how to create fairer relations between communities and the private sector; and
  • how to reduce risks and problems associated with benefit sharing.
Please support this process by responding to the following questions, which should take 10-15 minutes.

Please complete the survey in relation to one protected area that you work in (you may complete the survey more than once for other protected areas).
