Call for Abstracts for Oral and Poster Presentations
The Kansas Public Health Association annual conference is an opportunity for public health professionals from a variety of disciplines and geographic locations to collaborate and learn together to improve the public health infrastructure and workforce in Kansas. KPHA members and attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable information and key learnings from expert speakers as well as network with colleagues from around the state.
Submission Deadline
Oral and Poster Abstracts will be accepted through 5 pm CST on Friday, June 30, 2023.
Presenter Registration and Membership to KPHA
You do not need to be a KPHA member to submit an abstract. If your abstract is selected as an oral or poster presentation, the presenting author(s) MUST become a KPHA member and register for the conference. Session presenters are NOT reimbursed for registration or expenses to attend the conference.

Selection Criteria: (All submissions will be judged on the following criteria)
- Overall quality relevance to public health profession
- Timeliness of topic
- Audience appeal
- Well-defined focus of presentation
- Application of the material
- Professional background and speaking experience of the presenter(s)
Conference Objectives
- Identify actionable strategies to strengthen and improve the public health workforce in Kansas
- Engage with public health experts to support local policy and advocacy initiatives
- Cultivate new collaborations with other public health professionals including academia, local public health departments, advocates, students, and more.
- Advance professionally through continuing education, networking, and capacity building.
Abstract Notification
All presenters will be notified via email of abstract status by July 2023. If accepted for a presentation, you are giving permission for this abstract to be printed in conference materials.

Session Types/Format
Choose from one of two presentation styles below: Oral or Poster presentations. The conference planning committee will do their best to honor your selection but please note that a request for you to change the format of your presentation to accommodate the maximum number of presentations may be asked.
- Oral Presentations will be a 45-minute session. Presenters may collaborate with others to have multiple presenters on the same topic or theme.
- Poster Presentations will be virtual and available to conference attendees before and during the conference. At least one poster presenter author must be a registered conference participant. Once accepted the primary author will receive directions for submission.
