2026 Review

Have your say
Clinicians, quality professionals and clinical and service leaders

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) is inviting feedback on the Venous Thromboembolism Prevention Clinical Care Standard (the Standard).

The Standard was first published in 2018 and last reviewed in 2020. Since then, evidence, models of care, and system pressures have continued to evolve. The Commission is now reviewing the Standard to ensure that it reflects current best practice and focuses on areas where improvement is most needed.

About Clinical Care Standards
Clinical Care Standards support the delivery of safe, high quality, evidence-based care across Australia. Each Standard includes a small number of quality statements describing key aspects of care where improvement can lead to better outcomes, and indicators to support monitoring and improvement.
