Dear Members and Friends of Mayflower UCC:

Welcome to our 2021 Congregational Survey.  Thank you for taking the time to complete this important instrument. We encourage you to share this survey with each person in your household who is active at Mayflower.  We are eager to hear from everyone, both adults and youth.

We recognize that the last year has not been a typical one for Mayflower or our surrounding community. While the means and methods through which we engage with Mayflower have changed, the message remains the same, and it is the impact of that message which we ask you to consider in this survey.

The information you provide is critical to the work of both the Church Council and the Leadership Team. We are undertaking this survey because of its importance to how the Council exercises its leadership and because we have a long tradition of taking feedback seriously.  We will use the results to evaluate our progress and identify areas where we may need to dedicate additional time and resources.

The survey is divided into 4 sections:

Section I asks about your participation in various church programs and activities and how your participation has contributed to your spirituality.

Section IA asks questions specific to your experience of Mayflower and its ministries during the pandemic.

Section II asks about the Goals and Strategies the congregation approved in 2015 as part of the Mayflower Strategic Plan. We are interested in your perception of how our Church community is achieving these goals, and your feedback will be considered as the Council works to revise this plan in 2021-22.

Section III asks for demographic information.

The survey includes room for you to add open-ended comments, all of which will be read by the Council and the Leadership Team.  We expect it will take from 15 to 20 minutes to complete the survey.

Your opinion counts. Please complete the survey by Sunday February 7th, 2021. Our goal is to hear from everyone so we can incorporate your perspective into the work of the congregation.  We will share what we learn from the survey at the congregation’s annual meeting in May.  This is the second administration of the survey, and we intend to continue the practice in order to benchmark and chart our community's growth.

If you have any questions, please contact one of the Church Councilors. If you experience technical issues with the survey, please contact Stephanie LaFayette at s.t.lafayette@gmail.com, and we will do our best to respond to you within two days.

Thank you.

The Church Council  and Leadership Team
