The coach will review the QRIS rating structure with the director and together they will complete a QRIS self-assessment using all 6 Categories of Standards in the QRIS.  Estimate:1.5 hrs

Purpose:
a. To determine which standards the program is already meeting
b. To begin to identify standards that the program could achieve with support by June 30, 2015

It is estimated that a program will need to meet enough standards at the time of the assessment to earn a score of 21 points to be able to achieve enough additional standards to be eligible for a Level 3 rating by June, 2015.  Of the 21 points:
- at least 4 points should be earned in the Workforce Qualifications and Professional Development Category, with at least 2 points earned by meeting the lowest level of Director or Early Childhood Teacher Workforce Qualifications, and
- in the Learning Environment Category, at least 5 points should be earned by meeting both standards in the Curriculum standard area OR 4 points must be earned in the Child Assessment standard area.

If the program does not meet the 21 point minimum but has a plan for staff to complete the Level 2 courses, the coach may support the director in completing the Level 2 self-assessment if it has not already been completed and a Quality Improvement Plan to meet the requirements for a Level 2 rating. If all criteria on the Level 2 self-assessment are checked “YES,” the required Quality Improvement Plan should be completed based on unmet standards in the QRIS. If some items have not been checked “YES,” these should be included as goals in the QIP as the program cannot earn a Level 2 rating until all the Level 2 self-assessment criteria are met. The program may apply for a higher rating in a later phase of the QRIS roll-out.
