The 2017 Recruitment and Retention Award is a joint venture of the Volunteer & Combination Officers Section of the IAFC and VFIS. The award recognizes success and excellence in the retention and recruitment of emergency service organization members.
Award Criteria: The award is presented to a department that has demonstrated positive results to a comprehensive approach to retaining and recruiting members during the period June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017. You do NOT need to be an IAFC member to apply. Only fire & emergency services organizations can apply for this award.
The organization selected as the winner of the award will have all transportation and hotel expenses paid by VFIS for one member of the organization to attend Symposium in the Sun and VCOS will pay for that member's conference registration.
Applications are due by August 31, 2017.
The award will be presented at the 2017 IAFC-VCOS “Symposium in the Sun” November 9-12, 2017 in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
