1. PHAB Vital Records/Health Statistics Accreditation Standards and Measures

Progress has been made on the development of accreditation standards and measures for Vital Records/Health Statistics Units in the 57 jurisdictional areas identified by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) within the National Vital Statistics Collaborative Program (VSCP).  This includes the jurisdictions where statewide vital records are collected from the 50 States, District of Columbia, New York City, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands. PHAB has partnered with the National Association of Vital Records and Health Statistics (NAPHSIS), CDC/OSTLTS, NCHS, and a few states to develop the standards and measures and complete both an alpha and a beta test to ascertain their applicability in the field. The most recent version of the Standards and Measures for National Accreditation of State/Territorial Vital Records/Health Statistics (VRHS) Units is now open for public comment until November 2, 2018.

We value the opinions of the public health community in ensuring the VRHS Accreditation Standards and Measures are clear, relevant, and appropriate. We plan to incorporate what we learn from this vetting process for presentation to the PHAB Board of Directors in late November 2018.

Please submit your comments using this survey instrument. On this survey you can submit your comment and indicate which Topic Area, Standard, and Measure your comment pertains to.
