Since 1994 USTA Middle States has inducted into its Hall of Fame, deserving individuals who have influenced the growth of tennis in the Section. Please tell us about someone you know - living or deceased - who has been instrumental in having an impact on the growth of tennis in Middle States.
Nominations are accepted at any time, (yet the deadline for the 2019 induction is March 18th) and will be considered for future Hall of Fame inductions. Persons nominated should have a minimum of 10 years residence within USTA Middle States. There is no age restriction. Individuals may be elected posthumously and may be nominated in two categories:
A. Player Category – Players will be chosen on their records of outstanding competitive achievements with consideration given to sportsmanship and character. Included in consideration will be:
1. Middle States member played or is currently playing USTA MS tournaments
2. Age - must currently be 21 years or older
3. Local, sectional, national, international record of play
4. Present enshrines of the International Tennis Hall of Fame residing in USTA Middle States
5. Davis Cup, Federation Cup, Wightman Cup participants
6. Number of years ranked in USTA Middle States and National
7. Other outstanding achievements
B. Non-Player Category – This category honors individuals (volunteers, writers, umpires, coaches and others) who have made outstanding contributions to Middle States. Included in consideration will be:
1. Activities in Middle States as a USTA MS member
2. Age
3. Length of service to sectional, national, international
4. Present enshrines of ITHOF in non-player category
