Introduction
Thank you for your interest in taking part in this survey.

This survey is part of Creative Workspaces: A Research Project & Action-led Report for Birmingham commissioned and led by CVAN WM (Contemporary Visual Arts Network West Midlands) and hosted by DASH.

The research is being undertaken by Meaningfully Ltd to better understand creative workspace provision and the needs, experiences and priorities of visual artists in Birmingham.

For this research, visual arts includes contemporary artistic practice such as
  • Crafts
  • Drawing, painting, printmaking & graphic art
  • Graffiti and mural art
  • Live art and performance
  • Moving image
  • New media and digital art
  • Photography
  • Sculpture and installation
  • Sound art
  • Text-based art & artist’s books
  • Socially engaged art and participatory practice, within the above
  • Interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary or hybrid practice, including crossover with design, architecture or other creative disciplines

This survey is for Birmingham-based visual artists only. This includes artists who live, work, have a studio & regularly practise in Birmingham. If this sounds like you, we would really welcome your response.

The findings will be used to help inform future work, advocacy, and planning around artist workspace provision, ensuring it is more responsive to the needs and realities of people working in the visual arts.

The deadline for completing the survey is 5pm on Friday 28th August.
