Reflect & Refresh: Deepening Understanding and Community Care
The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless seeks workshop proposals for our 2022 conference titled: Reflect & Refresh: Deepening Understanding and Community Care. The conference will be held in Duluth, MN on September 29th & 30th. At this time, we are planning for an in-person event & we’ll closely monitor the situation.
Deadline to submit a conference proposal is 11:59pm on June 5th, 2022. Click here if you want to see the survey questions in advance of submitting. Please note that you will NOT receive a copy of your survey answers so we encourage you to copy your answers in a separate document. If you have questions, please email info@mnhomelesscoalition.org
Sessions should meet the professional and personal development needs of a diverse audience, including people new to the work, experienced professionals, and people experiencing housing and economic insecurity.
The MCH 2022 conference will focus on our deep care and commitment to ending homelessness and create opportunities for deeper understanding of our shared work and advocacy. As you are shaping your proposal, ask yourself these questions:
- How can we provide deeper understanding on ways to end homelessness?
- How can we stay grounded in our values while we work and advocate together?
- What drives you and/or your organization to continually strive to do what is best?
- Do you have wisdom, programs, learnings that can be shared with colleagues/communities from across the entire State?
- How can we care deeply about our communities while also balancing the need to care for ourselves?
- How can we sustain our long-term work while managing the daily challenges and crises of the moment?
Let’s deepen our understanding of how we are connected in our efforts to end homelessness. Together, we can strengthen our relationships and our communities--moving closer to our shared vision that every Minnesotan has a safe, affordable and dignified home.
All workshop proposals are welcomed and will be considered. There are many aspects to our selection process for identifying conference breakouts, including alignment with our conference theme, strength of proposal, and relevance to the work towards ending homelessness in Minnesota. We will award additional points during our scoring of proposals to presenters that identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, have experienced homelessness, or have other relevant lived experience.
