MASBO Annual Conference
May 9-11, 2018
Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC)

The MASBO Annual Conference will be held May 9-11, 2018, at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC).
We are currently accepting proposals for presentations to be delivered at this conference.

There are two different kinds of presentations in different formats that may be submitted:  Gold Mine Sessions and Breakouts.
  • Gold Mine Sessions will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 9, and provide an effective way for attendees to obtain information in an abbreviated, interactive format. They are 30 minutes in length, and are held in a round-table format, with each session being presented three consecutive times. Gold Mine topics are usually somewhat technical in nature—past years’ topics include Cash Flow Borrowing, PSEO Finance, EDRS Basics, Construction Defects,Auditing, and Wage Discrepancies. This format works well for topics that can be presented in a shorter period of time, and lend themselves to more dialogue between the presenter and attendees.
  • Breakout Sessions will be held on Thursday, May 10, and Friday, May 11, and are 50 minutes in length. They should be educational in nature without reference to promotional information regarding a company or its products.
*If you are interested in submitting more than one presentation as a Gold Mine Session and/or Breakout Session, please submit each topic separately.

We appreciate session submissions in any area of school business, and those that would enhance the knowledge and skills of school business professionals, regardless of their experience level.

Attendees at MASBO conferences may work at public, private or charter schools, and presentations should address any differences that may exist for different types of schools. MASBO respects the diversity of our membership, and asks that  presenters are sensitive to the cultural, generational, gender and ethnic diversity represented by our attendees.

Please complete the information requested in this survey. A complete presentation description is important, and will be used to evaluate presentation submissions, as well as in our conference communications.  If you are interested in providing an informational breakout session at the conference, please complete the survey form by December 22. All submissions will be reviewed by our planning committee, and you will be notified regarding the acceptance of your presentation after this date.

Thank you!
