We are asking you to complete this survey because you work for a local public agency that may be involved in implementing projects. The survey is geared toward local governments that are planning to work on a specific project in the next 12 months.

The Local Government Commission is conducting a study to better understand how climate programs and projects might be helping to build public agency capacities in various ways, what kind of capacity building goals public agencies might have for their work, their capacity to implement projects over time, and the factors that influence progress. The best way to learn about these issues is from public agency staff like you.

Some survey questions are subjective and may reflect your opinions. We are interested in knowing a bit about your specific capacity goals, your frank and candid assessment of where your community and agency stands with respect to the issue your project is seeking to address, and ask that you answer each question genuinely and to the best of your ability at this point in time (without regard to any desired outcome or anticipation of impacts to come).

The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete, and participation is voluntary.

All individual responses will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared outside of the Local Government Commission. Responses will be reported so that no individual can be identified, and only aggregate survey results will be shared.

As the survey has required answers, and sections appear on a series of pages, you can't preview all the questions without entering information on each page. If you want to preview the whole survey, please download a copy here. Please do not submit the survey in pdf form, rather return here to submit online.

Thank you in advance for your participation. We look forward to your responses. If you choose to participate, we will follow up with a similar survey in 12 months to learn about progress on your goals and any changes in your agency’s capacity.
