Background
Sweetgrass First Nation is one of 325 member Nations in the successful Band Reparations class action lawsuit. The lawsuit stated that the Government of Canada is responsible for damages to Indigenous communities caused by the Indian Residential School System and the collective harm suffered by Indigenous communities due to the loss of language and culture.

Sweetgrass First Nation is starting the process to develop a 10-Year Plan outlining how the Nation will spend the Band Reparations funds for Sweetgrass language, culture, heritage, and wellness. To make sure the 10-Year Plan reflects the needs of Sweetgrass members, the Nation is asking for member participation in a community survey. The Nation is collecting information from on- and off-reserve adults (18+ years old) and youth (12-17 years old).
