The Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative, SIANI, is an open and inclusive network that supports and promotes multisector dialogue and action around our vision of a sustainable, inclusive and rights-based transformation of food systems.
 
In 2023, SIANI finally kicked off its new programme phase, SIANI 4, with a new vision and pathways for change based on previous learnings and input from our members. Within this vision, SIANI's work is primarily steered towards the recognition of rural youth, smallholders’ and SMEs’ prosperity in value chains in local production systems and livelihoods and rights of forest communities, Indigenous peoples and natural resource-dependent poor. Throughout the year, SIANI has continued to build its network and community with online and in-person members meetings, new collaborators at events in Sweden and globally, in addition to a regional network meeting in Nairobi. SIANI has also raised awareness and amplified topics around sustainable food systems, for example on water, data and youth. In April, SIANI announced a call for Expert Groups and looks forward to work with the four selected groups next year.
