            July 15-19, 2024  SUMMER SESSION

What is biofabrication?
How can we improve treatments for patients and veterans who have debilitating diseases or injuries but limited options for cures or better outcomes?

What job skills are needed to sustain this new and evolving industry of biofabrication?

In this weeklong version of BioTrek, a project-based learning program, you will discover answers to those questions as you learn about the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) and significant endeavors in biofabrication, tissue engineering, and the advanced technologies of biomanufacturing to create tissue engineered medical products (TEMPs).  The institute’s work will positively impact, not only manufacturing, but also healthcare and education & workforce development opportunities for the nation. In fact, President Biden identified the Manchester area as a TechHub for the industry of biomanufacturing. Job opportunities are anticipated to expand exponentially.

In this credit-bearing course, you will learn about the amazing science happening right here in Manchester, NH, and you'll have the opportunity to meet some of the amazing scientists and other professionals who work here. Along the way, you'll discover the diverse and exciting job opportunities essential to sustain and grow this industry--not just science!

What will you do in this course?
With your deeper understanding of biofabrication and what ARMI does, you will work with a team to research current challenges in the realm of regenerative medicine then conceptualize a TEMP to remedy the medical problem your team identified to research.

A competition determines a winning team!
During final presentations, industry members are invited to determine a winning team, so bring  your "A" game! The culminating event for this course  gives you an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge acquisition as you present your TEMP concept and business model in a prestigious poster session or team presentation to a panel of industry professionals who will determine a winning product proposal.

Biofabrication is growing at a breakneck pace, and we need curious and inspired minds like yours to amplify the potential for creating life changing treatments and cures!

This is a condensed and challenging program that requires your enthusiasm and dedication.  Please take a minute to register below and thoughtfully respond to the related questions.

We are excited to see how your team will apply your own strengths, ingenuity, and passion to conceive a cure for people in need.
