Education Session Proposals for 2025 Pittsburgh National Conference |
Call for Proposals - Deadline: March 17th
The League of Historic American Theatres National Conference -- the only national gathering of theatre professionals focusing on opportunities and challenges facing historic theatres – seeks theatre managers, historic theatre board and staff leaders, service providers and other content experts to submit proposals for Tools & Techniques sessions for the Conference to be held in Pittsburgh, PA, July 20-23, 2025 (Sun-Wed).
Just because this is a conference about historic theatres doesn't mean we don't have something to say about the here and now. Historic theatres can be both historic and relevant. Indeed, they must be both.
We want to showcase best practices from around North America for restoring, maintaining and operating historic theatres. Please consider presenting about your incredible restoration, your inspiring story of survival against all odds, or even that amazing event you just produced. In 2025, it's once again about showcasing What Makes Really Successful Historic Theatres Really Successful? but also how historic theatres adapt to stand the test of time. Don't forget, sometimes that means learning about what didn't work.
We are seeking sessions focused on Facilities, Operations, Marketing, Fundraising and Programming (including film-specific programming). We are also interested in case studies about successful restorations and other capital improvement projects.
Sessions can be in the form of panel discussions, hands-on workshops, case study presentations, research presentations, or facilitated training sessions.
Conference participants will be historic theatre professionals looking for best practices or emerging ideas in the field of saving, restoring, maintaining and operating historic theatres.
If chosen, presenters must register for the conference. LHAT does not provide travel or lodging but does advance any member discounts otherwise available regardless of membership status of presenter. Priority is given to active LHAT members when similar -- or a surplus of -- proposals are being considered.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Monday, March 17th at midnight EDT.
