INTERNET-BASED INFORMED CONSENT

Title of Research Study:     LGBTQ School Psychologists’ Experiences in Work Field

You are being asked to participate in this research study because you are a School Psychology graduate who identifies as LGBTQ or other gender nonconforming identities in the Unites States. In order to participate in this study, you must be age 18 or older.

The purpose of this research study is to investigate the experiences of LGBTQ school psychologists with gender and sexual diversity in the work field. This study will also investigate the impact of these experiences on psychological adjustment and professional/career engagement. All LGBTQ school psychologists, whether they are currently working in the field of school psychology or not, are invited to participate in this study.  If you agree to participate, we will ask you to fill out an online questionnaire that asks you about your work experience, sexual orientation, experiences with discrimination, and psychological state. It may take 30-45 minutes to complete the questionnaire. In return for your participation, you are eligible to win one of ten $25 Amazon gift cards through a raffle. Your participation in the raffle drawing will be OPTIONAL. If you are interested in participating in this raffle, you will be asked for your email address at the end of the survey, and your contact information will be kept in a separate file from your survey responses.

No more than minimal risks are anticipated with this study. Some questions in the questionnaire may induce some emotional discomfort; however, it is expected to be minimal. We will make our best efforts to maintain confidentiality of any information that is collected during this research study. We will protect your confidentiality by not asking your name. All data will be kept confidential and will only be reported in a conglomerate format (only reporting combined results and never reporting individual results). All data will be stored in the principal investigator’s passwords protected computer at Queens College.
