2020 AAMI Foundation & ACCE Robert L. Morris Humanitarian Award |
This award—honoring the late humanitarian Robert L. Morris—recognizes individuals or organizations whose humanitarian efforts have applied healthcare technology to improving global human conditions.
This award is not limited to engineers. Biomedical equipment technicians, engineers, physicians, computer software engineers, and government and non-profit employees may qualify.
The prize consists of a plaque to be presented at the 2021 AAMI Exchange in Charlotte, NC, and a $1,000 check.

Entries for the Robert L. Morris Humanitarian Award must include:
- Nominator’s cover letter that provides a rationale statement describing:
- The outstanding qualities of this nominee as a positive role model, and demonstrating a passion and dedication, whether through work-related humanitarian efforts or through "extra-curricular activities", as exemplified by Robert L. Morris.
- This nominee's role in planning or implementing healthcare technology, international outreach or educational programs.
- The impact on quality, accessibility, efficacy, and/or safety health technology deployment and/or application in international regions due to this nominee's work.
- This completed Robert L. Morris Award nomination form.
- A current CV/Resume for the nominee(s).
- Two or more letters of recommendation supporting this nomination from supervisors, colleagues, and industry partners.
All information pertaining to this nomination must be received by January 18, 2021.
