Committee and Subcommittee Positions

National SAA volunteers must be members of the national SAA and must remain active national SAA members throughout their committees service (or Academy members if they graduate and transition to Fellow membership status before the end of the committee term). Acknowledgement of the National SAA Volunteer Expectations is required to successfully complete this application. National SAA leadership wants to ensure that each of its volunteers understand the level of commitment volunteers may be held accountable to when volunteering with the national SAA. As a national SAA volunteer, one should be prepared to:

  • Attend and actively participate in all committee conference calls in their entirety. Conference calls occur at the discretion of the chair.
  • Respond to communications in a timely manner and be available to carry out official business of the national SAA throughout the volunteer term.
  • Be accountable for individual performance and assigned duties, subject to periodic review.
  • Submit a monthly report on your assigned duties as requested by your committee chair.
  • Annually renew your national SAA membership.
  • Ensure that information that is confidential or privileged (i.e. not publicly available) is not disclosed inappropriately or negligently.
