The Andy Diehl On Being a Doctor Creative Writing Competition

Entries for the 16th annual On Being a Doctor competition for Texas ACP Medical Student and Resident members are now being accepted.

The theme for the 2022 competition is:

Stronger Together

- Submissions due by September 23, 2022
- Membership in ACP is required for submission.
- All essays must be submitted as a Word document.
- Submissions must be original prose or poetry and limited to 1,000 words or less.
- Submissions should not have been previously published, although unpublished, previously presented work will be accepted.
- Submissions will be judged on language, expression, clarity, uniqueness, flow of thought, and appropriateness to the theme.

The winning author will be notified no later than Thursday | September 29, 2022 and will be invited to showcase their work during the TXACP Annual Meeting October 28-30, 2022 in Dallas! The author will receive reimbursement for their travel expenses to attend the TXACP meeting. The winner will be recognized at the Annual Awards Luncheon and will receive a travel stipend to attend the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting April 2023 in San Diego!
