Introduction

If you run a social enterprise in Kilkenny - large or small - we want to hear your views. Kilkenny Public Participation Network (PPN) is conducting this research to understand how social enterprises can be better supported to grow and develop.

We appreciate your time  - the survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. Most of the questions are check-boxes.

The survey is being undertaken by Doody Facilitation and Consulting Ltd, an independent research company, on behalf of the PPN. If you have any queries, feel free to contact owen@doodyconsulting.ie for help.

We will not identify individual respondents to ensure confidentiality. Please note that the information you provide will be managed in accordance with KPPN's Privacy Policy (see https://kilkennyppn.ie/privacy-policy/).

Under the National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland 2019 - 2022, Social Enterprise is defined as follows:

  • An enterprise whose objective is to achieve a social, societal or environmental impact, rather than maximising profit for its owners or shareholders.
  • It pursues its objectives by trading on an ongoing basis through the provision of goods and/or services, and by reinvesting surpluses into achieving social objectives
  • It is governed in a fully accountable and transparent manner and is independent of the public sector. If dissolved, it should transfer its assets to another organisation with a similar mission.

Question Title

* 1. Based on the definition provided above, do you categorise your organisation as a Social Enterprise. Does your business have an economic, social, cultural or environmental mission that provides a public or community benefit?
