Deadline: Thursday, October 23rd, 2025
NASPAA is seeking enthusiastic member schools to serve as virtual partner schools for the 2026 NASPAA Virtual Simulation Competition. Partner schools have the opportunity to create a meaningful, educational and exciting day for students from around the world as they compete and network in an immersive learning event while using a computer simulation designed for public service education. If you are interested in becoming a partner and hosting the virtual competition for your region, please click the link below to submit a brief proposal by October 23rd, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements:
- NASPAA staff will oversee several simulation games happening simultaneously around the world. Each partner school will only be responsible for facilitating it's own game as part of the bigger competition.
- A flat fee of $1,500 USD will be invoiced to your institution if your application is approved. The fee covers the use of the simulation, onboarding, training and promotion in NASPAA media (newsletter, social media, global conference, website, etc.)
- Your simulation will run from 9:00-5:00 in your timezone on one of the available Saturdays of the competition.
- Must be able to host a Zoom meeting for the participants to gather in. It MUST be Zoom. Alternative virtual meeting platforms cannot be accepted.
- You must provide simulation facilitators to run the simulation and Zoom room on the Saturday of the competition. The facilitators will be required to read through a script and present a slideshow, both of which will be provided by NASPAA. The facilitator does not need any technical experience or subject matter expertise. Any dependable faculty, administrator or PhD student would be acceptable for this role. We recommend having a team of two or three.
- You will be asked to invite 4-5 academics and practitioners from your network with subject matter experience and/or expertise to serve as volunteer judges. This connection to real-world knowledge and guidance is essential to the student's overall learning experience.
NASPAA Staff will guide you through every step of the process and will provide support on the day of the competition.
