Child Friendly Penang |
Welcome to the Penang Child Friendly Cities Survey
About This Survey
This survey is about children’s everyday lives in Penang — where they live, learn, play, and grow. We want to know what is working well, what could be better, and what matters most to children and families. It is part of Penang’s Child Friendly Cities Initiative, led by Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), with support from UNICEF Malaysia. Think City is helping to carry out the research.

There are two parts:
- One for parents/guardians
- One for children aged 10–17
If completing the survey together, parents should answer their section first, then the child completes theirs. If you do not have a child aged 10–17, you may complete the parent section only.
What to Expect
Each section takes about 10–15 minutes. There are no right or wrong answers — we want your honest views. Your responses will help improve services, spaces, and opportunities for children in Penang. If any question feels uncomfortable, you can skip it or stop at any time. Support contacts are provided at the end of the survey.
Win RM1,000 for Your School!
Your child’s school (x10) could win a RM1,000 grant for a child-led project to improve the school or community. The winning school will work with Think City and UNICEF to design and carry out the project. Every completed survey increases your school’s chances.
Thank you for helping make Penang a more child-friendly city where every child can grow and thrive.
