Why is this important?

Kentucky Housing Corporation, in collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Local Government, is undertaking the development of two important statewide planning documents. Both documents are required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order for the State to continue receiving over $45 million in funding. These resources finance affordable housing and community development activities for low- and moderate-income residents in Kentucky.

Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice
The Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice involves a review of the State’s housing and housing-related programs and policies to ensure these are administered in a non-discriminatory manner. Kentucky Housing Corporation prohibits discrimination based on race; color; religion; sex; national origin; sexual orientation; gender identity; ancestry; age; disability; or marital, familial, or veteran status. That is, that the State manages its housing and housing-related programs without regard for a person’s race; color; religion; sex; national origin; sexual orientation; gender identity; ancestry; age; disability; or marital, familial, or veteran status.

Five-Year Consolidated Plan (2020-2024)
The Five-Year Consolidated Plan analyzes housing and homeless needs to determine Kentucky’s priority needs for affordable housing and community development benefitting primarily low- and moderate-income residents.

One element of this joint planning process involves outreach to residents, business owners, and community leaders for input on fair housing, affordable housing, economic development, and community development needs throughout the State. Please consider taking this 10-minute survey and provide your input.
